Last week Sony made it officially: From the summer there are additional options for more money for more money for more money, including access to an extensive library from PS4 and PS5 titles or cloud streaming. In total, three different subscription options are offered, namely:
- The essential version gets the most votes by far
- Voices from the euros Community
- Not all will retain PS plus
- PS plus Essential (about 9 euros a month)
- PS plus extra (about 14 euros a month)
- PS plus premium (about 17 euros a month)
On the exact differences, we do not want to go back here, you will find it, among other things, in our great overview of PS plus restructuring:

We were interested in the announcement above all one: Which subscription option of the three featured is your favorite? Is there a clear tendency? Accordingly, we have set up a survey and run a tight week now. And the preliminary end result is quite clear.
The essential version gets the most votes by far
- PS plus essential \ - 58%, 1596 votes
- PS plus premium \ - 23%, 627 votes
- PS plus extra \ - 19%, 519 votes
Total votes: 2742 (as of 5 April 2022)
He is by far the largest part of those who have voted will therefore remain or complete this classic PS plus subscription. The most expensive, but also largest option occupies second place, tightly followed by the middle variant, PS plus extra.
Over 50 percent, at least in this survey, speak a clear language and, on the one hand, show that many of the advantages of the "normal" subscription may be sufficient, but may also be an indicator that the bonuses of the more expensive variants are not sufficient to provide the extra price to pay.
Voices from the euros Community
Under the survey, there are main comments that call the Essential version or the PS Plus Premium version. Jacky Ripper, for example, explains his decision for Essential so:
"I've tuned for Essential. So far I had Ps Plus and PS Now, but was never satisfied with the latter and wanted to get out there anyway. Whether I try the next higher package, really strongly depends on the selection of PS4 + 5 games. If Sony does not have a shell on it and offers more quality and newer titles, I do not need that. "
And Tom Sir79 will keep the basic version:
"Essential, as always the standard variant. I do not need more either."
Zridd, however, changes to the premium variant because the classics offered there irritate him:
"So I'll try premium times to see what's there for classic beads. PS1 title I have many many on my Vita, PS2 title could be one or the other.
Some of you want to try the premium service first to see if the higher price is worthwhile and then to change back into a cheaper version.
More info and backgrounds for PS Plus restructuring:
- 740 games at once: the new PS plus launched with big lineup
- Therefore there is no pure multiplayer subscription
- PS plus will have "all the big names" in the future, but rarely to the launch
Not all will retain PS plus
Interesting: Many voices missed the option "None". Because some of you will leak your existing subscription and no longer extend, including the User Casualgamer or the Pirate, who explains his decision in a longer comment:
"[...] I will leak my existing plus subscription. I do not see any benefit in any of the three possibilities. Online Multiplayer I do not play. Cloud scores have been miserably faded twice and I could not all after defective consoles (Two of the most important for me) to restore scales. The only thing that might interest me would be games like Return, do I need the plus service for this? [...] on the gifts, stops that are just borrowed, I can do without games I have never played one of them. [...] "
Even more comments and decisions for one or the other of the variants can be found under our survey. It is possible that the mood picture changes in the next few weeks and months, under certain circumstances, we will repeat this survey again in the future.
We would like to thank you for your participation and comments at the PS plus survey!
