The Reveal Call of Duty: Vanguard already makes our author want to throw it, but one thing is currently restless: Will there be colorful anime masks in the battlefields of the Second World War? I hope not!
Who is upset here? Jürgen Horn likes shooters and gives a certain value to historical correction. Therefore, the idea of killing Nazis in Normandy with a Tommy pink gun that represents cute animals cat girls full of horror.
Historical scenarios should, at least in the approach, also be historically correct.
That is why the Second World War fits as well as a scenario: Vanguard's revelation dazzled me a lot and I am anxious about the release of November.
World War II is not my favorite scenario, but on the other hand, this iconic conflict is particularly good for the shooters. Here there are no modern luxuries and you can fight at your whim with some known weapons and vehicles.
Why are the skins a problem in Vanguard? But the Second World War also involves special optical requirements. You already know how you see a Tommy, MG 42 or Luger pistol.
A tiger tank comes in gray field or a corresponding camouflage mark and the Wehrmacht uniforms, the US Army. UU or the Red Army can also be recognized immediately by its corresponding style. This immediately creates a feeling of recognition and immersion.
If the tank mentioned above suddenly pink and had a smiling anime cat in the turret, that would quickly ruin the historical atmosphere of the battlefield. In the same way, if the soldiers of the Red Army suddenly arrived in bright neon green instead of the usual greenish uniforms or weapons emitted strange lighting effects.
The typical Soviet uniform of World War II looked like this and did not have bright colors.
That would be a brutal break in style for me and it would cost me a lot of fun. As great as I think of colorful masks and, on my part, anime decoration at Shooters such as Apex Legends or Valorant, in my opinion are equally inappropriate in historical scenarios.
Why could it continue to appear colored skins? On the other hand, the range of skins on the stage of world war is, of course, limited. There was only one range of design variations in the respective armed forces and if you want to have wehrmacht soldiers with red uniforms, you will not find them in any history book.
If the developers adapt to the available historically correct templates, the selection of new masks would be very limited and that, in turn, would be detrimental to the earnings that Activision wants to obtain from the game.
Imagine a pack of masks in which it unlocks the mask Tarnfleck German Forest 1944 and then enjoys subtle and darker green and brown tones. At least he would not spend money on that.
Therefore, only for economic reasons, developers will try to create the most great skins and incorporate them into the game.
I also see that, as I said, the color camouflage stains and the gray field are terribly lúgures in the long run. But does that mean that it has to be variegated or even anime aesthetic?
Do not bring a tiger tank in pink!
What would be a good commitment? Actually, there are ways to make the masks in Vanguard interesting and original, but still do not leave the framework of historical design!
Actually, this is quite easy, because if you see photographs of military teams of the time, you will notice quickly, especially in the case of the US Army. UU, which, especially with aircraft, often stamped colorful works of art in the machines. These were, among other things, faces of shady predators in the nose of the aircraft or Pin-UPS mocking on the flanks of the machines.
Other armies of the time also allowed the decoration of equipment and here developers can also afford a little creative freedom and allow more than the historically transmitted reasons. Whenever the basic aesthetics is correct, almost no player should bother about it.
Interestingly, there are already such designs in the game, so a mask for a wumme with a characteristic artwork of an airplane in the mouth of the canyon is a pre-order bonus.
